OpenMV RT1062 does not register as a drive each time I connect to my computer

I have an OpenMV RT1062 camera connected to a Macbook Pro running OS Sequoia 15 and the OpenMV IDE v 4.7.0. Each time I connect my camera to the computer via a USB-C cable to the Mac’s USB-C ports, the camera is detected by the OpenMV IDE but I get an error message from the Mac that the Drive is not readable, with options to Eject, Ignore or Initialise, and it fails to show up as a USB Flash drive in my file explorer.

The camera can be connected to the IDE, however the “Drive” is left blank. I have the most up to date firmware. If I reset the firmware and erase the internal FAT file system the camera does reappear as a USB drive, however I have to do this every time I connect to the computer. As soon as I disconnect the camera and then reconnect it, it is once again unreadable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I don’t want to erase the filesystem every time I want to try new code.

This isn’t typical and would be something related to your PC that’s causing the drive to be corrupted each time. Can you try ejecting the camera drive each time you disconnect from your Mac?

Yes I’ve tried ejecting it properly and it behaves the same

Do you know how I might diagnose the problem? The laptop is only a year old and has the most up to date OS

I have the new 2024 Mac Mini and Mac OS 15.5 and the RT1062 works fine with the latest firmware and the onboard drive mounts correctly. Tested plugging and unplugging a few times.

I’m not sure, could anything be trying to write to external flash drives when they mount? My machine is pretty clean and just has build tools on it and VNC. However, maybe you’ve installed some program that writes something to any disk that’s attached.
