I am using OpenMV RT1062 Camera module for reading 1D Code128 barcode scanning. My application is to detect barcodes between 15cm - 120cm. But, with manual focusing, I am not able to achieve this complete distance without manually refocusing the telephoto lens. I found the OV5640 FPC module but in the description, there is no information whether this module will support rt1062 or not. Also, will this module support telephoto lens? Could you suggest any other better lenses for this rt1062 module for my application? My application is to scan the 1D barcodes where the camera will be mounted on the robot and the distance between the camera and the robot can be anywhere between 15 cm - 120 cm.
Hi, The OV5640 FPC works with the RT1062. However, you can’t mount a telephoto lens to it.
Um, why not use the normal lens and just detect the code on a larger resolution? What’s the frame rate you need? Also, if there’s some way of using color tracking to find the barcode area then you could use that to select the right ROI for you to target the barcode reading on. This would allow you to work at a higher resolution without the speed loss scanning the whole res.

Actually frame rate is not a major problem for us. But, does RT1062 support 12 MP lenses? Also as in our application we need to detect barcodes at variable distances, manual focusing of lenses is not possible. Hence, is it possible to install any other telephoto lenses that also support autofocus?
Hi. Ok. So the motor control for the lenses needs to be implemented in this case for autofocus, right? My last question is: What is the maximum resolution that is supported by rt1062? Does it support 12 MP?
It has a 5MP camera so it supports up to 5MP. This is 2592x1944.
