Hi, I am working at Flox which you probably know about. Right now I am trying to trigger the auto focus on the OV5640 on a rt1062. I tried the command:
sensor.ioctl(IOCTL_TRIGGER_AUTO_FOCUS, True)
but that gave me a module not found error which is probably because it’s for the OV5640 FPC.
I tried then to instead trigger the auto focus of the camera by writing to a register. However, this gave no results. When i read the address for the auto focus status it only says that it’s running but is never completed. My question is then, what am i doing wrong? And is it even possible to trigger the auto focus on the base OV5640?
The OV5640 modules that ships with the camera doesn’t have an auto-focus lens.
Alright, then I guess i do need the OV5640 FPC. It’s a shame since we want to strap i wide angle lens to the sensor but the FPC module does not support it.

That’s great, thanks! I think it’s a bit weird that the shop only specifies auto focus on the one that doesn’t have the wide angle lens but it’s worth a shot.
I just messaged the shop and they said that the wide angle options do not support auto focus and it seems to be a theme across all the shops i can find unfortunately.
There are more shops on Aliepxress. There are hundreds of vendors selling wide-angle lenses for it. One might have what you need.
Yeah you’re right. We eventually managed to find numerous 120 degree autofocus ov5640s :D.
