IDE cannot connect, Solid Green LED, Not detected in Windows

Hi everyone,

My first OpenMV camera arrived a couple days ago, and while I am super pumped, I can’t seem to past this issue. I am hoping to see if anyone has any suggestions on what else I can try.

My OpenMV Pure Thermal cannot connect to the IDE (v4.2.4). It powers on, but the LED nearly immediately turns green, but does not ever blink. My Windows 11 PC does not detect the device at all when plugged in.

Things I’ve tried:

*Pressing and briefly holding the power button (per a different post) causes the LED to cycle White to Solid Green while I hold it (~.5 sec), then White back to Solid green when I release.
*Between 3 computers (and multiple USB ports), 3 different USB-C cables - none of my computers detect the device
*Following the ‘Brick’ prompts in the IDE, but it doesn’t appear to do anything (My guess is because Windows doesn’t detect the device, so no COM port to communicate over)

Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hi, the Pure Thermal has two LEDs. One of them in the charge LED which is kinda wonky. The other is the software controlled camera LED which should blink blue by default. When it’s green that means the bootloader is running.

It may just need a software reset using DFU.

Can you do this? Please attach a wire between BOOT0 and RESET:

Then plug it into the PC. The IDE should help you recover it.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to change anything.

Windows still doesn’t detect the device. If I follow the “brick” prompts in the IDE, it doesn’t seem to help. I’ve attached a pic and the most pertinent screen shots from the IDE (I made a collage as I couldn’t attach more than one picture).

I go through the brick recovery prompts, (including the one that suggests the BOOT & RST jumper) and get to this recovery prompt w/progress bar. It eventually times out. I get an error.

I took some other screen shots at various points during this process. I can upload them if it would help.

Hmm, okay, I can provide live help support tomorrow.

I’ll DM you a calendar link to book a spot.

@kwagyeman - I’m experiencing the exact same problem with my PureThermal. Were you able to identify a solution to this problem?

You need to contact GroupGets. There’s something wrong with the hardware if BOOT0 connected to VCC doesn’t allow it to reconnect to the bootloader.
