You can do this but the OpenMV Cam only has one serial port to the PC which OpenMV IDE uses for debugging the camera. So, if you want to use the IDE and a serial port to the PC you need to add an FTDI chip to the device and use the hardware UART to send data back to the PC. Once you’re done debugging you can remove this and switch to using the USB VCP serial port without OpenMV IDE.
