Hi,
I’m interested in purchasing the OpenMV Cam N6 and the Camera Extension Cable.
Before placing the order, I’d like to confirm that it’s possible to disconnect the camera from the main board and connect it through the extension cable, so that the camera can be mounted remotely (for example, on a pair of glasses).
In addition, I’d like to confirm that the main board can be connected to an external sensor (e.g., an IMU) through I²C or SPI while the camera is connected via the extension cable.
Could you please confirm that this setup is supported by the N6 hardware and firmware?
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards,
Daniele
Hi, you asked this question via the chat on the store stoo.
We are not selling the N6 right now, as for the extension cable, it does not work with the PAG7936 at the moment as the MIPI lines for it aren’t impedance controlled. So, above 1 Gb/s the data doesn’t come through. The PS5520 does work however with the current extension cable. SingTown may have a new solution cable for this we can order.
In addition, I’d like to confirm that the main board can be connected to an external sensor (e.g., an IMU) through I²C or SPI while the camera is connected via the extension cable.
There’s an IMU on the N6 on the base board. You can connect external ones via the I/O pins if you want to also.
