Nicla Vision DFU Mode not detected when connected to OPENMV IDE

I want to update the firmware of Nicla Vision. I installed OPENMV-IDE successfully for Ubuntu 22.04. Every time I connect Nicla Vision via usb to my host Ubuntu PC, OPENMV-IDE cannot open the DFU device, which is the Nicla Vision. Warning messages shown were : dfu-util: Invalid DFU suffix signature, dfu-util: A valid DFU suffix will be required … , dfu-util: Cannot open DFU device 2341:035f .

I was able to run micropython scripts if I chose not to update the firmware, however.

Hi, this is most likely a permissions issue with your linux setup.

Not sure what’s happening. It might be the new OS. Maybe this link will help: dfu-util / Tickets / #26 Cannot open DFU device 0483:df11 (without using sudo)

Hi, Thanks for your kind reply, I was able to upgrade the firmware of Nicla Vision using my laptop with Win10. I’ll try to figure out how to make it work with Ubuntu 22.04 and update here shortly.
