Is ArUco detection possible on OpenMV? (Competition requirement, AprilTag not allowed)

Hi everyone,

I’m preparing a robot for a competition where the organizers require the use of ArUco markers. Because of this rule, I cannot switch to AprilTag, even though I know OpenMV has excellent native support for it.

Before posting here, I searched the forum and found several discussions about marker detection, but all the practical solutions rely on AprilTag, not ArUco. Unfortunately, AprilTag is not an option for me due to the competition rules.

My question is therefore, is it realistically possible to detect ArUco markers directly on an OpenMV camera?

Any experience or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, you’d need to port the Arcu library to the platform. This is a very challenging task. At the moment, our focus is on drivers and ML work.
