Hi, I’ve just recieved a GENX320 sensor and H7 plus board. The RGB camera works fine, but the GENX320 has a “RuntimeError: Failed to detect the image sensor or image sensor is detached” when I try to run an example. I’ve tried reseating the module multiple times, and switching back the RGB camera always works. Do I need to update the board firmware or do anything else?
Hi, yes, you need to have the latest firmware installed on the camera for the sensor to work. Does it show the latest firmware in the IDE? It should be 4.7.0 on the status bar.
Thanks - it shows 4.5.1, so I’ll get it updated once I get a jumper wire. If there’s a minimum version it might be worth adding to the store page / docs to avoid confusion in the future!
Just wanted to update - this fixed it, all is now working fine.
For anyone finding this - starting the update was a bit fiddly, I had to try removing & inserting the jumper wire a few times before it started. It should start instantly after you press ok; if it’s on the “waiting, ctrl c to cancel” stage then start again.
