OpenMN N6 PAG7936 High fps

Hi all,

With my previous setup (RT1062 + MT9V024), I was able to run sensor.set_framesize(sensor.B128X64) at 264 fps.

After upgrading to the N6 with the PAG7936, I expected to reach the mentioned 320×200 @ 470 fps. However, I’m currently limited to about 118 fps, regardless of whether I use a small QVGA or even HD resolution.

Since the frame rate remains constant across different image sizes, the bottleneck appears to be somewhere else.

Any ideas on what could be limiting the frame rate, or has anyone successfully reached the 470 fps on the N6/PAG7936 platform?

You need to do:

sensor.set_framesize(sensor.QVGA)
sensor.set_framerate(470)

Sorry for missing such an obvious solution. I’m now reaching the expected frame rates.

I was a bit too focused on the library documentation (“By default the camera will run at the maximum frame rate”) and didn’t think to simply try setting the frame rate explicitly.
