According to the documentation, the board should appear as a removable disk.
"MSC. Mass Storage Class. The flash memory on pyboard appears as removable disk drive the same
way as a USB thumb drive. No driver installation is required. Plug in pyboard, open Windows Explorer
and find the drive. Note the drive letter. It should show the following files"
It does not...
Nor does it appear in any of the device trees in the Device Manager.
How can I install the driver ?

I would first make sure that the USB cable you are using has data lines. There are some cheap "charging only" cables out there, that don't allow communication with your computer.
