Looking at an application that would involve mounting multiple cameras to cover different areas of the field of view. I would only need to look at the camera output from one camera at a time. Would it be possible for me to multiplex multiple image sensor modules to the N6 somehow?
Yeah, it’s possible. The sensor interface allows for camera resets and res changes. So, as long as one camera is found on startup you can mux them and just change which one is live.
The hardware design for this is complex though. You’d need a really high speed analog mux for the MIPI CSI camera stream. You’d also need a mux for the I2C interface.
As for controlling the MUX, you could do so over I2C on the camera bus… the mux can have an address. Or, via the GPIO pins on the camera.
How do the multi-spectral camera modules work? E.g. with both a thermal camera and normal camera. Perhaps I could reference that design for having multiple normal cameras?
