Global shutter for use with AprilTags

Hello all, I am using OpenMV in an industrial setting to track AprilTags that are moving. I am only tracking the tag location in the frame, and its ID, not 3D pose.

Would you expect improvement in detection of moving tags with the global shutter, versus the rolling shutter? I am thinking there would still be motion blur depending on the lighting, but it would eliminate shearing distortion.

I plan to do some testing but am interested to know if this is a known recommended way to improve detection of moving tags.

It doesn’t really matter. AprilTags is robust to rolling shutter artifacts.

To improve the motion blur you must turn off autoexosure, fix the exposure to 1ms or something near. If then the image is too dark you must use more powerful light.

Global shutter is a must go for industrial applications though.
