# Flashing green forever - Cannot connect

After following the prompt to update to new firmware today I can no longer connect to the openmv. Whenever I connect to usb with ide on Win10 it just keeps flashing free . If I try to connect a dialog window saying “connecting (hit cancel of this takes more than 5 seconds) keeps popping up and going away. Finally , Timeout error while getting firmware version dialog appears.

Hi, this means the firmware update failed. The bootloader is running repeatedly over and over again.

That said, you should be able to reflash the camera by clicking connect on the ide when the camera is not connected, plug the camera in when prompted, and then it should relfash it and be good again.

and what if the led flash green 4 time then stop and don’t show in device manager

That means the firmware is gone but the bootloader is fine.

To fix this just click connect in the IDE without the camera attached, follow the dialogs, and then plug the camera in.
