Re: Filesystem access, PC and pyb simultaneously

Thanks for the info! As we are intending to look for April tags etc in the images, the documentation seems to recommend not allocating extra FBs.
I might give it a shot, but I think simultaneously we will re-evaluate our test setup and see if we work this differently in our end :)

Re: Filesystem access, PC and pyb simultaneously

Doing that I assume image size is limited by heap size, ie it's not possible to write to the frame buffer directly? Based on what I read about creating images from files here: http://docs.openmv.io/library/omv.image.html#id34, it seems I can only work with files ~16kB in size? On the OpenMV Cam M7 y...

Re: Filesystem access, PC and pyb simultaneously

I think you misread my question, i want to go the other way. I have a simulation on the PC, outputing simulated images i want the M7 to process. Ie, i want to send images from the PC to the M7 . As far as i have been able to find this has not been discussed, sorry if I have missed something. Edit: T...

Re: Filesystem access, PC and pyb simultaneously

Thank you for the quick and straight answers! Is there another way of getting images to the camera? For offline testing I upload recordings and code and then reboot to have the camera run the recordings. But in this case I would like to be able to transfer images as we go to the camera (images are c...

Re: CAN Communication Problem OPENMV CAM M7

I can vouch for CAN working on the M7, I've been using it without any issues.
Your code seems fine, apart from the fact that you never use the CAN bus to send or receive messages.
Echoing the questions from @bauer-san, what firmware are you using and what errors are you seeing?

Filesystem access, PC and pyb simultaneously

I'm having issues when accessing the file system simultaneously from python and a PC over USB. It seem the list of files are not updating properly on my pc when the files are modified by the board itself. To recreate, simply run this code on the camera and then add some files from the PC: import os ...

Re: Unit testing

Thank you for the quick answer!

Fair enough, using the COM port and the USB Drive interfaces to control the camera seems to be the most reasonable solution at this point.
An upside of that is that HW performance and actual underlying implementations can be tested as well :)

Unit testing

Is there any way to unit-test OpenMV code without using the actual hardware? The intention is to record a number of video sequences and use that for testing and development. As far as I can tell there is no way to run the code on a PC or in any simulated environment, is the best way to connect an ac...
