Re: Global Shutter LED Out

Yea, I have it sort of working using using the firmware built from the git releases with the pin defined as PA15. However the syncing is still not working. Im sure its something in my code. Ill keep trying to tweak it. All I'm trying to do is create an example for the community, with the hope it cou...

Re: Global Shutter LED Out

Got everything built but now there are different issues. Used TARGET=OPENMV4 ( I am using the The OpenMV cam h7 plus, so just to check I also repeated the following with TARGET=OPENMV4P which gave me the same image quality issues.) The image quality is severly degraded on my custom firmware. Attache...

Re: Global Shutter LED Out

Ok been spinning my wheels on this. According to the docs: "There are a total of 22 interrupt lines. 16 of these can come from GPIO pins and the remaining 6 are from internal sources." Given the example: extint = pyb.ExtInt(pin, pyb.ExtInt.IRQ_FALLING, pyb.Pin.PULL_UP, callback) How can I define "py...

Re: Global Shutter LED Out

Hmm maybe im going about this the wrong way, Im using the motor shield as a led driver, here is how I have it setup for pinA of the H-Bridge: pinA = pyb.Pin('P3', pyb.Pin.OUT_PP, pyb.Pin.PULL_NONE) tim = pyb.Timer(4, freq=1000) pinAPower = tim.channel(1, pyb.Timer.PWM, pin=pyb.Pin("P7"), pulse_width...

Global Shutter LED Out

Hello, I am trying to get the global shutter camera module to sync to a LED flash. From looking at the Docs I can see that the MT9V034 has an LED_OUT on SPI3_SSEL.

What I want to do is get that into a pyb pin, so I can do stuff with it. How would one go about this?

Re: how to send image to server by post to http?

I was working on a similar project using raspberry pi. What I did was use ffmpeg to pipe an image stream over UDP to a netcat listener on a server. You can stream and save these UDP streams once they get to your server. Here was my example for the Pi, you could replace ffmpeg with usocket on the Ope...

SingTown designed on already. We should stock it.

Re: Securing the OpenMV cam for deployment.

I can contribute to the best of my ability which means I can get it done but will take me a while. Just lead me in the right direction and I'll figure it out. Also since this is so niche maybe just put it off until we can get enough users requesting it to contract you for your time.

Re: Securing the OpenMV cam for deployment.

But, what features do you need to keep? I guess that really depends on how updates of the scripts would have to be handled. Personally I plan to use the wifi shield, if OTA updates could be pushed that would be great. Then there would be no reason to allow for any periphrial access in the final pro...

Re: OV5640 FREX mode

Here is some interesting stuff about Frex and the OV5640 camera, from the raspberry pi forum: https://github.com/Hermann-SW/Raspberry_v1_camera_global_external_shutter The main issues I have with his execution is requiring that raspivid_ges has to be run then the frex commands issued during the stre...

Re: Securing the OpenMV cam for deployment.

I didn't know about that upy module for STM32 flash protection. That is nice. Anyway, the real question is how much of this do you want in the IDE versus just having to do it manually. I kinda imagined it working like the this: Open OpenMV IDE Select Tools Menu Bar Have a new folder added labeled "...

Securing the OpenMV cam for deployment.

Putting all this out there so we can get some brainstorming going on. Im trying to lighten the work load of the maintainers of the OpenMV project. To not waste their time lets layout some ideas to pursue so we can package the solution as a cohesive plan to send to the OpenMV team. Issues: For users ...

Tools->Save Script to OpenMV Cam. The Tools->Reset OpenMV Cam.

Then you can use open terminal to view output after the script is already running. Just don't hit the send script button.
When you "Save Script to OpenMV Cam" does this mean that the py file no longer needs to be on the SD card?

Repurposing Motor Shield

Question: Can I use the Motor Shield as an LED driver? Logic behind the idea: Currently I'm using an external led driver (well actually just a bench power supply  ) with a mosfet to act as a strobe. This is great for testing but good luck strapping a bench power supply to a commercial product....

I was thinking about this also recently. I planned to try some sort of virtual micro python instance first to see if that was even possible.

OV5640 FREX mode

Hello All, Im eagerly awaiting my OpenMV Cam H7 +. One exciting feature I am looking forward to exploring FREX mode. I see it has been mentioned several times in the forum but not explored in great detail. A little background about FREX mode also called Global Reset Mode: The OV5640 is a rolling shu...
