Pins not Soldered in

Postby CEF » Tue Sep 05, 2017 5:37 pm

I just received my OpenMV board in the mail. (Yay!) It came with a couple of rows of pins that haven't been soldered in. Is this normal, or just a mistake on my board? I haven't seen anything in the documentation.

Not complaining -- been looking for an excuse to learn to solder. But, wasn't expecting it either.

Hi, yes this is normal, we've decided to stop soldering the headers to reduce costs. The long/stackable headers have to be soldered manually, our factory doesn't have a tool for it, and there are 2 headers per cam. The only other option was to use short headers but if we do that we can't make the LCD shield anymore.
