Re: Memory Allocation Failed + MemoryError - How do we garbage collected in Python?

Wow, that's my bad haha. I did NOT check micropython docs this time around :/ But that thank you for the fast response! We're going to implement these tomorrow!

Memory Allocation Failed + MemoryError - How do we garbage collected in Python?

We're consistently getting Memory Allocation Failed and MemoryErrors when we try to run our full code. When we remove different chunks of code we're able to run our code again. For example, If we remove chunk #2, chunk #1 runs and vice versa. So clearly our cod vve runs on it's own. Right now we're ...

Re: Cannot use openmv-cascade.py script for haarcascade of depth > 1

So just to be clear - the haar cascade openmv class only operates with a haar cascade of tree depth 1?

Cannot use openmv-cascade.py script for haarcascade of depth > 1

Hi, I've created my own haar cascade and I'm experimenting with tree depths greater than 1 (i.e. not a stump). However, it seems that the provided script to convert .xml haar cascades into .cascade files for the openmv cam doesn't handle trees deeper than 1. Fundamentally, the .xml files of differen...

Re: makefile for omv

Hi, I think I have make actually running with the micropython submodule cloned as well. But at this point i'm getting errors in files like py_helper.c such as undeclared variables. I'm thinking that rather than go through these I want to just build off of the last stable build of openmv firmware. At...

Re: makefile for omv

I see now that mpconfigport.h is used to configure a certain port. Not sure what exactly that entails. How can I make one of these files myself? What kind of information and formatting should it have?

Re: makefile for omv

I am now running into the issue that mpconfigport.h is not included at the filepath /src/micropython/py/ The error is as follows: In file included from /Users/calvinryan/Documents/mv_compile_test/openmv/src/micropython/py/nlr.h:36:0, from src/nm_bsp.c:6: /Users/calvinryan/Documents/mv_compile_test/o...

Re: makefile for omv

Hi, So I can get the makefile to compile everything after I remove the line: $(MAKE) -C $(MICROPY_DIR)/ports/stm32 BUILD=$(BUILD)/$(MICROPY_DIR) BOARD=$(TARGET) QSTR_DEFS=$(OMV_QSTR_DEFS) It seems that the directory ....../micropython/ports/stm32 is not included in the git repo. As I'm not changing ...

Re: makefile for omv

Hi, Yes, I am on mac. I noted that the make target needs to be OPENMV3, but I tried that and it didn't work. I tried installing qt editor for Mac, and set things up the same way but that didn't work either.... Isn't qt editor simply calling 'make target=openmv3' ? Or is it doing something more?... T...

makefile for omv

Hi, I'm trying to make small changes to the OPENMV3 fw bundle. I've tried using virtualbox and can't get linux to run well enough to even install qt editor. I also don't want to pay for parallels or vmware. SO, I'm now trying to just compile using the makefile in the /src/omv folder. However, I keep...

Re: weird behavior when setting gain

Hi, After find the second data sheet I finally understand what you mean about the upper bits. If you look below you can see that linearly incremementing the 0x00 register then gives you a gain response of something like this below. You can clearly see the 5 gain ranges here and there are multiple re...

Re: weird behavior when setting gain

We found a second data sheet that does not match the one found at: https://openmv.io/collections/products/products/openmv-cam-m7. The one on your website doesn't reference any scaled gain values. We found one on TI's website that does reference scaled gain bits in register 0x00. This data sheet can ...

Re: weird behavior when setting gain

Hey, We have the data sheet and appnotes but all I'm seeing is what looks like a linear 0x00 to 0xFF range for overall gain at register address 0x00. See the attached snapshot. Screen Shot 2018-03-02 at 11.40.11.png Doing some more testing of the l_mean vs. the gain control register 0x00 it seems th...

weird behavior when setting gain

Hi, I'm trying to write a basic function to adjust the gain of the OV7725 sensor based on the l_mean seen in an image. To do some testing, I set up a loop which uses the sensor.set_auto_gain(False, gain_db = <value>) to write gain values from 128 through 0 (somewhat arbitrary limits used for testing...

Blob Statistics - stats of blob instead of rect?

Is there any way to get the histogram/stats of just the blob rather than the bounding rect? In the attached photo, we are finding healthy and unhealthy leaves. I want to get statistics on the blobs that we find, but I'm forced to get the stats for the bounding rect instead of the actual blob itself....

Out of Memory Error

I occasionally get an out of memory error when trying to print(img.compressed_for_ide(quality = 30)). I understand that jpegs are large even when compressed, but I'm confused as to why sometimes I can show the image in the serial terminal IDE and other times not. Is there an explicit way to clear th...

I tried the ide you just uploaded above and I'm still seeing the disconnection issue with my main.py script. However, the example scripts work as expected and don't cause a disconnection. Can you try to test on your end with the main.py script in the google drive link I sent you to confirm or deny w...

Re: Camera disconnects from IDE when running script (sometimes)

@kwagyeman I'm seeing this issue too. I'd be happy to install a USB trace analyzer and get some data for you! Do you have any recommendations for an analyzer? I will also verify tomorrow that the new IDE + FW 9.9.9 that you posted above doesn't actually fix the issue as bobparadiso mentioned.
