Re: position encoder

Would it be much simpler if you use an arduino to read the encoder and transmit position using I2C or SPI to OpenMV. This is usually what we do with wheel encoder, there are numerous examples on the web and an arduino pro mini is 2$

It seems that the baud rate dont match between the openmv code (9600) and the python script (115200)

Yes I can give it a try in C but I would need some guidance from you

Btw this is a more technical paper about the system

Cool, I saw you progress on this and will certainly give it a try.
Did you looked at the paper above?
We dont see much neural network implementation on STM, could be interesting

A Bio-inspired Collision Detector

This has just been published: https://scirate.com/arxiv/1801.04530 Its a a novel bio-inspired collision detector and its application on a robot. The detector is inspired from LGMD neurons in the locusts, and modeled into an STM32F407 MCU . Compared to other collision detecting methods, we focused on...

Re: Newbie OpenMV Arduino I2C

Mustafa, So if you are an experienced developper, you should make the ''pre-baked'' code, that kwagyeman posted last tuesday, work in minutes... ;-) If its not working, you could try on a different port on OpenMV (its uart 3 in the example) or at least get a reading on the IDE on your PC. You can ce...

Re: Newbie OpenMV Arduino I2C

Mustafa
I suggest you start with simple examples to gain experience. Kwagyeman is giving exceptionnal support for free but he cannot transfer knowledge...that takes time and determination. If you are facing a tight deadline you should consider hiring an experienced embedded system developer, good luck

Ah no its not that then, the pax4flow is a stm32 based system as well, but the problem seems to deal with outdated drivers, thanks for the iinformation anyway :-)

Re: How to restore the histogram window

I have an issue with a device that does not want to load (it used to be) = px4flow , and I remember that you wrote above: The IDE is almost ready. We just have to fix some issue with USB drivers windows created for us in the last OS update a few days ago. Can you give me a clue how you fixed it ? Th...

Cool, as you can see I attached the picture of my prototype (BTW I f you look carefully at the video, there are 4 Tags of different sizes and the quad finished on the small one). OK I will try to work on a simpler example then: Lets call it white square on a red patch. If I follow you, I am setting ...

Method for tracking Color Blob and April Tag

Hello, I am working on new project for my QuadCopter : Precision Landing , and I am trying to mix 2 tracking scripts + Color Tracking and April Tag tracking. Color Tracking works OK if you can really tune the filter for the correct lighting and surrounding, best is still a red patch on a grass field...

Re: Connecting Terminal over Serial

Ok then the Open Terminal cannot be used as a ''remote'' IDE?

Here's my use case:
On my Tracker system, I want to remotely change the LAB filter values on the saved script and restart it.
Can this be done ?
Or would you think of any method to change values on a running script ?

Connecting Terminal over Serial

Hello,

I want to control OpenMV over Bluetooth using Hc-05/06 type device.
But first I test with a std FTD serial to USB in order to make it work, but I cannot connect on the OpenMV using the IDE Tool/Terminal.
Am I missing something here ?

Re: How to restore the histogram window

OK Thanks
The windows was ''rolled down'', so YES by moving the mouse over the status bar , the ''stretch'' icon popped up.. so I just had to ''unroll'' the histogram

May I suggest, you add this feature to the wiki http://docs.openmv.io/openmvcam/tutoria ... rview.html

The Quad suddenly steer to a random direction at high speed . what Fnoop describe as a '' Psychotic Wasp''. The problem we have here is when the tracker loose tag , it aim at the latest vector that generally is a large value of x-y vector. This problem is less intense on the Blob Tracker.. need to i...

Re: Python script to output MAVLink

Just a note concerning the Tag Distance, the new values are
Min : 30 = below 30 the Tag is exceeding the FoV
Max: 200 Over 200, the reading gets inaccurate and random, so it is limiting the landing range for a single sized Tag.

Getting the Quad ready to fly with this setup, will post results prett...
