Re: Differentiating between colors where one is a subset of the other

Thanks for getting us to look at exposure! Perhaps we were have issues with too much light. Reducing exposure seems to have helped improve colors and create more accurate thresholds. Still not perfect, but 100% better. We'll dig into the histogram equalization to improve further. sensor.reset() sens...

Re: Solved: OpenMV communications with Arduino

Thanks! Will do once we refine the sample a little more - some additional testing on our part, documentation and comments would help others.

Solved: OpenMV communications with Arduino

Here's a method for setting up simple Serial communications between an OpenMV camera and an Arduino Since we had challenges getting communications working between these two, we thought others might benefit from our research and experimentation. ###### Example code to create non-blocking serial commu...

Re: Differentiating between colors where one is a subset of the other

Brainstorming other ways of finding the orange bellow in proximity to a yellow target, we tried the find_circles example. After trying a array of different options, we managed to find everything EXCEPT our ball. Also, moving to grayscale causes other problems with our project - but was an option if ...

Differentiating between colors where one is a subset of the other

Howdy! We're having a great time with your H7 cameras - they are fast and provide a lot of power for our small project. Can you provide any guidance on how to differentiate between objects where the thresholds for one are a subset of another? We're using color tracking for an Orange ball on a 3 mete...

Re: LCD Shield causes M7/H7 Reset

All your other shields mount on the 'lens' side of the camera; we just assumed the LCD was similar. Your clarification helps. If that's the way the LCD Shields are supposed to mount to the cameras - how are we supposed to mount the camera to anything? Putting the LCD on the back-side perhaps enables...

Re: LCD Shield causes M7/H7 Reset

Wow folks! Thanks for the lightning fast reply (again)! Using firmware 3.3.1 that came along with IDE 2.2.0 and directly connecting the LCD shield to the cameras Will wait and test with the new shields tomorrow, unless you advise otherwise. Thanks! PS - Love your lens protectors; especially useful w...

LCD Shield causes M7/H7 Reset

Good Day! We're having trouble with our first OpenMV LCD Shield (v2 2/11/2016) received in April 2019. When attached to any of our M7's or H7's (current firmware) - the cameras start and work properly. However, when we run the "lcd_1.py" example program from the IDE, the cameras just reboot and disc...

Re: Exclude portion of image?

WOW! You are amazing and appreciated with the lighting fast response! Running this code snippet we get the following image in the IDE. The entire image is black except for the area we want to mask out, which is exactly the opposite of what we're looking for. Any advice on what we're doing wrong is a...

Exclude portion of image?

Love our H7's, they are truly fantastic. They are working great to find colored objects - now in windowed 640x480 thanks to your advice >>> sensor.set_windowing((100,0,420,480)) We're trying to optimize the fps by excluding a region in the center of the image that will never change from the image.fi...

Thanks, that makes sense!

So when would you only use one and when do you recommend using both Area and Pixel in the search parameters?

Thank you!

Sad about the memory allocation madness, but understand.

Splitting the field into four window-quandrants sounds great.

Area_Threshold vs Pixel_Threshold

Good Day! From the find_blobs definition https://docs.openmv.io/library/omv.image.html#image.image.find_blobs we have image.find_blobs(thresholds[, invert=False[, roi[, x_stride=2[, y_stride=1[, area_threshold=10[, pixels_threshold=10[, merge=False[, margin=0[, threshold_cb=None[, merge_cb=None[, x_...

H7 Resolutions?

Good Day iabdalkader and Team! Just received your awesome H7 cams and love them; they are indeed much (2x+) faster than the M7's we've been testing with. However, the reason we 'moved up' was the promise (as you indicated in https://forums.openmv.io/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1258 ) of higher supported res...
